Work In-Progress: “The Slaves’ Law”

A middle-grade fantastical adventure with imagery, truths, and phraseology drawn from in the biblical book of James.

James Edward Jameson’s family has owned thirty acres of vine-covered forest in the small, gem-rich town of Hiddenite, NC for over 100 years. But unlike their neighbors, they never dug up the ground looking to strike it rich, though they certainly would have liked to. The forest would not allow it. Every attempt to enter turns the trespasser around and spits you out before you can get a hundred feet in. That is, until the most frustrating day of James’ life leaves him in a blind sprint of rage…

Inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia, the books of Andrew Peterson and N.D. Wilson, and Wise Words by Peter J. Leithart.
